Before we produced organic home garden plants, we spent four generations as commercial fresh fruit and vegetable growers. We still grow fresh fruit and vegetables and supply the food industry from retail grocers to restaurants. We call on that experience to guide us in growing edible plants for home gardeners that they will be successful with.
We select varieties based on many factors, but number one is taste. Too often home garden vegetable plants coming from the ‘bedding plant’ industry are selected for the fact the seed is cheap, or they have cute names, but zero flavor (I’m looking at you Big Boy Tomato). Working directly with chefs and food industry professionals makes us keenly aware that taste is paramount. Home gardeners plant a garden to EAT these items. So, they need to taste good.
We grow a ton of unusual and cool varieties from the routine to the exotic. None of them are GMO, ever. They are all USDA Certified Organic, and have been since 2013.
